Unapologetically Black

Bringing colour and vibrancy to Black History Month.

Opal 22 are a community not-for-profit, bringing punchy events and increasing Black History awareness and culture to the people of Leicester.

They approached On Poynt after their previous Graphic Designer’s work wasn’t quite expressing the narrative and story that Tara, Opal22’s creative director, wanted to tell.

We worked back with the team, took inspiration from the V&A, cultural artists and illustration styles to produce all the promotional material for the Unapologetically Black events.

With the help of the studio, all events were sold out and massive awareness was raised, particularly important seeing that this was the anniversary of the Windrush generation – a vital year for Black heritage in the UK.
